Warning: Java is currently a very slow language. The following Java applet, when written in C or C++, runs in about 3 minutes on a reasonably fast workstation or a Power Macintosh 6100. In Java, however, it can take an hour or so to run. Java applets run on your machine, not mine, so don't worry about slowing down my machine. However, you may not be able to use your browser for a while. (You could always start another copy of your browser up, work on something else, or eat lunch). Someday, the Java will be a fast language, almost as fast as C or C++, and then this applet will fly along. Someday...
